Details of the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker 2009 (WCOOP 2009) have been announced, and we can tell you that it is going to be something really special. WCOOP 2009, which starts on Thursday 3 September, 2009, will feature 45 online poker room events and offer a guaranteed combined prize pool of $40,000,000. Even better, you can qualify right now for as little as $1!
WCOOP 2008 boasted 33 events, so this year’s competition is 12 events bigger and slated to be the biggest online poker tournament in history. The jewel in the crown is undoubtedly the two-day No Limit Hold’em Main Event which will start on Sunday 20 September, 2009 and have a guaranteed prize pool worth $10,000,000.
If your bankroll can accommodate it, and you have enough self-confidence to do so, you can buy-in to the Main Event for $5,200. If that direct approach doesn’t appeal, a far more affordable way to participate in the Main Event – and stand a chance of winning a slice of that $10 million prize pool – is to win a seat through one of the many satellites that are currently running at PokerStars.
