Until Saturday 25 September, players at PokerStars can participate in any of the following freerolls and satellites:
- Freeroll qualifiers which take place every hour and give the top 18 players a seat in a Weekly Final.
- $1.10 satellite qualifiers which take place every two hours and give the top 27 players a seat in a Weekly Final.
- $11 satellite qualifiers which take place every two hours and which also give the top 27 players a seat in a Weekly Final.
Some readers might be wondering why anyone would pay $1.10 or $11 to enter a qualifier instead of entering a freeroll, but the answer is fairly simple – the more you pay to enter a qualifier the fewer opponents you are likely to be up against. As well as giving you more chance of winning a seat, fewer opponents also means that the qualifier shouldn’t take as long to play.
Weekly Finals, which each have a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000, will give the best performers a seat in the Grand Final, and if you don’t win yourself a seat you can easily start over and have another shot at the next Weekly Final.
Assuming that you do win your way to the Grand Final on Sunday 3 October, you will then play for the first prize of the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4. The top 5,000 players will also get to share a prize pool worth $250,000.
