PokerStars 40 Billion Hands Celebration
PokerStars dealt its first hand of online poker just over eight years ago, and now the online poker room is getting ready to celebrate the dealing of 40 billion hands. The fact that the site will have gone from zero to 40 billion hands in less than nine years says an incredible amount about the popularity of PokerStars, and when you take a look at the celebratory events that have been lined up the reason for that popularity becomes self-evident – PokerStars treats its players like gold!
Cash game players who are fortunate enough to be dealt into every millionth hand leading up to the 40 billion Mega Milestone hand will win a cash prize worth $40 for every VPP (VIP Player Point) they have earned from the last 40 hands played at that table. An extra VPP will be given to each player before the calculation of the prize is made.
For example, if you have earned 20 VPPs from the last 40 hands then you would be given one extra VPP, bringing your total to 21. Your cash prize for being dealt into a millionth hand would therefore be 21 x $40 = $840.
Cash game players who are lucky enough to be dealt into the 40 billion Mega Milestone hand will receive a cash prize worth $400 for every VPP that they have earned in the 40 previous hands at that table (plus one VPP point, as with each millionth hand discussed a moment ago). That means a VPP total of 21 would result in a cash prize of 21 x $400 = $8,400! Even better, if you win the hand then your cash prize will be doubled!
As well as giving out loads of cash prizes in Milestone Hands leading up to the 40 billion Mega Milestone hand itself, PokerStars is staging a special $4,000,000 guaranteed Sunday Million tournament on Sunday 21 February. This is the biggest prize pool that the Sunday Million game has ever offered, and the winner will take away at least $1,000,000 – not bad for a direct buy-in of just $215!
Of course, there are satellite routes into this special Sunday Million game, and there are plenty of other celebratory games scheduled to take place as the 40 billion hands milestone is reached (including Super Sit and Go games, a Micro Million game, and more) so you should definitely visit PokerStars to see exactly what’s on offer. Whatever games you choose to participate in as PokerStars makes it way to 40 billion hands, we wish you the very best of luck!
