Poker in the Park 2009

Poker in the Park 2009Poker in the Park 2009 is the biggest poker festival in Europe, and this year it will take place from 13-14 August 2009 in London’s Leicester Square. Admission to the festival is free, and whether you want to learn more about the game, listen to advice from the pros or have a stab at winning your very own poker title, Poker in the Park 2009 could well be the festival that makes it possible!

No serious poker player ever wants to stop learning, and Poker in the Park 2009 recognises that by providing poker education in not one but two of the nine festival tents. In Tent 9 you can help yourself to Littlewoods Poker tuition and discover how to play the game more effectively from players like Michael Greco and Tony Cascarino. If you would like even more intellectual matter to feast on, pay a visit to Tent 5 and sit down for as many poker lectures as you can handle.

Each lecture in Tent 5 will last for around thirty minutes and there will be an opportunity to ask questions (and get those all-important answers) at the end. Scheduled lecturers include the likes of Neil Channing, Peter Eastgate and Jamie Gold, and Annette Obrestad is to be confirmed.

When you’ve filled your mind with poker possibilities, you can have a go at one of the hourly freeroll tournaments that take place in Tent 8 (aka the Poker Dome). Each tournament will accommodate 100 players, so you have a perfect opportunity to see how you measure up when playing offline.

The poker freerolls are one thing, but if you would like to win an actual poker title then you will need to head over to Tent 3 and enter the PKR Heads Up Challenge.  This takes a sit n go format, and the best player over the course of the festival will win the title Poker in the Park Heads Up Poker Champion.

Add to all of this a poker supplies store, a poker bookstore, the presence of both the Bluff Europe team and Nuts magazine and even more stuff that we don’t have time to go into here and we think Poker in the Park 2009 should be an outstanding event. In fact, we’re heading over to Littlewoods Poker right now to get ourselves warmed up for it – see you there!
