PKR Oktoberfest 2009
PKR is running an Oktoberfest event starting on Thursday 15 October that provides ten days of online poker room tournament action and a total of $120,000 in prize money. Oktoberfest has been very popular in previous years and after looking at the schedule for PKR Oktoberfest 2009 we think that the event will prove to be even more popular this year.
There are ten tournaments in all and if you participate in three or more of them then you will earn yourself a seat in a $5,000 GTD freeroll that takes place on Sunday 1 November. Even better, for every tournament you participate in, your starting chip stack for the freeroll will be increased by 350 chips!
The PKR Oktoberfest 2009 tournament schedule is as follows:
$12,500 GTD Six-Seater – Thursday 15 October – 18:15 GMT
This tournament will cost you just $20 to buy into, but boasts a $12,500 guaranteed prize pool. You’ll start with a 3,000 chip stack and play at six-seater tables.
$15,000 GTD Deep and Steep – Friday 16 October – 18:15 GMT
This tournament gives you a starting stack of 15,000 chips, but the levels last six minutes each, so the challenge here will be to adapt to those conditions. The buy in is $30.
$10,000 GTD Rebuy – Saturday 17 October – 18:00 GMT
Rebuys are always popular at Oktoberfest and this $8 buy-in event looks sure to be exciting, with each player having just 1,000 chips to start with.
$20,000 GTD Deep Stack – Sunday 18 October – 18:00 GMT
Buy in for $30 and you’ll get 5,000 chips to play with. Blinds increase every 12 minutes and there’s a $20,000 prize pool up for grabs.
$11,000 GTD Double Chance – Monday 19 October – 18:15 GMT
This interesting tournament gives you 2,000 chips to start with and keeps 2,000 aside as a backup should you need it. The buy in costs $20.
$4,000 GTD Omaha Hi/Lo – Tuesday 20 October – 18:15 GMT
Omaha Hi/Lo fans who have a $6 buy-in to spare are sure to want to have a go at this cosy little tournament.
$12,500 GTD Terminator Bounty – Wednesday 21 October – 18:15 GMT
If you like picking up bounty payments for knocking your competitors out of a tournament then this $25 buy in event will suit your ruthless nature down to the ground.
$5,000 GTD PL Omaha – Thursday 22 October – 18:15 GMT
Another Omaha tournament, this one is of the Pot Limit variety and puts $5,000 up for grabs. Not bad at all for a $20 buy in.
$10,000 GTD Ante Special – Friday 23 October – 18:15 GMT
Buy into this tournament for $20 and you’ll start with 5,000 chips, but in this game you’ll be paying Antes from the very first hand.
$15,000 GTD Deep Stack – Saturday 24 October – 18:00 GMT
The tenth and final of the Oktoberfest events, this tournament costs $30 to buy into and gives you a deep stack of 5,000 chips with blinds increasingly at a leisurely pace every 15 minutes.
