December PokerStars Passports Promotion
PokerStars Passports is a promotion that has always been popular at the PokerStars online poker room, but a special PokerStars Passports promotion that gives you the chance to win additional Passports is running throughout December. To have a chance of winning one of six extra Passports all you have to do is get yourself into the top 2,000 on the December Tournament Leader Board. You will then gain entry into a PokerStars Passport Main Event or a Consolation Tournament, depending on your Leader Board position.
Naturally, your aim should be to finish as high on the December Leader Board as you possibly can, but everyone in the top 2,000 will have a shot at winning a PokerStars Passport. If you finish in the top 200 then you will be invited to play in the Main Event, and players who finish in positions 201 to 2,000 will be able to participate in a Consolation Tournament.
The Main Event will take place on Thursday 21 January, 2010, and will award prizes to the top 18 finishers. Finish in 1st, 2nd or 3rd place and you will win a 5-stamp, 3-stamp or 2-stamp PokerStars Passport, respectively. Finish in 4th to 18th place and you will win a cash prize worth anything from $1,000 to $5,000, depending on where you finish.
Three Consolation Tournaments will also be held on Thursday 21 January. One will be for those players in positions 201 to 500 on the December Leader Board, and the other two will be for players in positions 501 to 1,000 and 1,001 to 2,000. In each of these Consolation Tournaments the eventual winner will receive a 1-stamp PokerStars Passport. Players finishing in 2nd to 18th place will win a cash prize worth $500 to $5,000, according to where they finish.
If you’re a stranger to PokerStars Passports then you might be wondering why this December PokerStars Passports promotion is so exiting. The answer is that a PokerStars Passport allows you to enter some very serious offline tournaments such as the European Poker Tour. The more stamps you have on your PokerStars Passport, the more choice you will have about the live event that you can attend. The Passport itself pays for your entry into the chosen tournament, provides accommodation and also gives you cash for your expenses.
Should the idea of travelling the world (or at least a part of it) and playing in a big money offline poker tournament in 2010 appeal to you, the next step is obvious – visit PokerStars today and start playing to win a PokerStars Passport!
