Boku87 Poker Challenge

Boku87 Poker ChallengeOnline poker players who are looking for some inspiration to take their game to the next level should start following the Boku87 Poker Challenge at the PokerStars online poker room. Thomas Boekoff, who has the screen name Boku27, is attempting to turn $100 into $100,000 in a year. He started the challenge on 20 July, 2009 and had reached the $18,000 mark a month later. So will he be able to continue and reach the $100,000 target? Our instinct says yes…

Of course, we don’t just trust our instincts, and our confidence in Boku87 largely stems from the fact that he has already completed a similar challenge by turning $5 into $10,000 in just 15 days. Actually he did that with 36 hours to spare, so technically the goal was achieved within a fortnight of starting.

Thomas isn’t the only online poker player who has set himself challenges like this. Full Tilt Poker professional Chris ‘Jesus’ Ferguson successfully completed his own $10k Challenge by creating a bankroll of $10,000 from a starting bankroll of $0. Yes, you read that right, Chris Ferguson started in 2006 with absolutely nothing, played freerolls until he won some real cash and then proceeded to amass more than $10,000 by September 2007.

We wish Boku87 the very best of success as he continues in his quest to turn $100 into $100,000 within a year, and we also suggest that Your Poker Guide readers might like to consider taking on a similar challenge. You don’t necessarily have to start out with a mammoth challenge on the same scale as Chris Ferguson or Boku87, but even a more modest challenge can be worth pursuing.

How about trying to turn $5 into $250, $50 into $2,500 or $100 into $5,000? You can set your own goal and timescale according to your budget and how often you are able to play online poker. That done, all that remains is for you to choose a start date and go from there. Play at PokerStars and you can keep up to date with the Boku87 Poker Challenge at the same time!
