Betfair Online Side Series
A new online festival of poker has been launched at the Betfair online poker room to celebrate the start of the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) 2009. The Betfair Online Side Series (also known as B.O.S.S.) will culminate in four tournaments on Sunday 11 October, 2009, and the guaranteed prize pools will be worth $120,000! If you didn’t manage to win yourself a seat in the WSOPE tournament then the B.O.S.S. could put a smile back on your face in short order…
The four main tournaments, and qualification opportunities available for each, are as follows:
NLHE Main Event
The No Limit Hold’em Main Event gets underway at 17:30 (UK times stated throughout) on 11 October and has a guaranteed prize pool worth $100,000. The direct buy-in costs $1,000 + $10 . If you would prefer to win yourself a seat then you can buy into daily Level 1 or Level 2 qualifiers for $1.20 or $10 + $1 respectively. Level 3 qualifiers, which offer two seats to the Main Event, have a buy-in of $100 + $10 and take place on Thursdays and Sundays at 19:45.
A freeroll qualifier that allows you to win entry into a Level 1 game takes place three times daily – visit Betfair Poker for more details.
NLHE Side Event
This No Limit Hold’em event starts at 18:45 on 11 October. The guaranteed prize pool here is worth $10,000 and you can buy-in directly for $50 + $5. Again, you can try and win yourself a seat by participating in daily Level 1 qualifiers costing $1.10 or Level 2 qualifiers costing $6.60.
PLH Event
If Pot Limit Hold’em is your thing then this tournament offers a guaranteed prize pool of $5,000. It starts at 19:00 on 11 October and costs $25 + $3 to buy into directly. Level 1 qualifiers and Level 2 qualifiers take place daily and cost $1 and $4.40 respectively.
PLO Event
This is a Pot Limit Omaha event with a guaranteed prize pool of $5,000. It costs $100 + $10 to buy into directly and the action starts at 19:15 on 11 October. As well as daily freerolls there are Level 1 and Level 2 qualifiers running each day, and those will cost you $2.25 or $11.
As you can see, you don’t need to have a king size bankroll to participate in the Betfair Online Side Series. All you need is the will to win, the skill to succeed, a dash of luck and a few dollars to buy yourself into a qualifying game. Qualifiers are already underway, so if you want to make Sunday 11 October something special, visit Betfair Poker today.
